Great Otway National Park to Portarlington

April 13th
Left our bush camp after having a great chat to the Rangers, who dropped by doing their rounds.  Headed for Aireys Inslet and then continued our drive up the Great Ocean Road through Anglesea stopping at scenic vantage points along the way.  Lots of neoprene and surfboards in this part of the world and if you are not in a wetsuit you feel a little out of place.  Stopped at Bells Beach where they were still packing up after the 'Rip Curl Pro' and watched the surfing.  Now know why Bells Beach is 'the place'! It was a pity it was such a grey day as the photos do not do it justice.

Bells Beach

Then onto Torquay, the mecca of all things surfing.  Grabbed some lunch and headed to the factory direct surf shops to find a bargain and then others to find not so much of a bargain.  All the surf and skate branded merchandise you could imagine and more.

Stopped for the night at Portarlington and went to a great restaurant called The Ol' Duke!  Then walked out to the end of the jetty into Port Phillip Bay.  Melbourne CBD was across the water.
