Halls Gap to Adelaide

June 11th
Rolled out of Halls Gap and started heading towards Adelaide via Stawell and Horsham.  Stopped in at Lake Fyans on the way, a very popular trout fishing spot.

Then called into Stawell again and went up to the Big Hill lookout.  Great view over the town and towards the Grampians, but unfortunately they were covered in cloud.

Then off towards Adelaide.  Stopped in Keith for a look at the 'Landrover on a Pole' and then headed for Tailem Bend where we thought we would camp for the night.

Then it started to rain and rain and rain.  Drove straight through and optioned up to a cabin at Avoca Dell Reserve in Murray Bridge and enjoyed a 'two for the price of one dinner' at the Pub!!

Work out time down on the bank of the Murray.  A bit drizzley, but we found ourselves a shelter and sweated and puffed because we knew we were off to Hahndorf and Otto's Bakery again!!

Then the rain became a bit more serious as we headed for Adelaide and the Beachfront Caravan Park in Semaphore.  Dropped off the camper before we went and checked out Semaphore.  What a great part of Adelaide, lovely historic buildings and great cafes.  It does not feel like you are in a city at all.  Also wandered around the shops at Harbour Town for a couple of hours without spending a cent.  Took Mike's Uncle Ron and Aunt Rhoda out for dinner and it was fantastic to catch up with them.

Out the front of the park there was a great beach walk with "Get Active" outdoor gym equipment at intervals along the way, so we put it to good use as soon as we were up in the morning.  Then went to Gepps Cross to find a Mountain Designs store and undertook major hair maintenance back in Semaphore in the afternoon, while Mike did a huge repack of the Hilux.  Had dinner at the Britannia Hotel in Norwood with Aunt Dianne, Gary, Uncle Maurice, Sue and cousins Samantha, Thomas, James, Jeffrey and his son Felix.  Was great to see them all again!!
